The goal: make it easier for patients, families, and referring physicians to find clear and concise information about Cardiac Surgery at U-M.

The results: a redesigned website with Intuitive layout and easy-to-read language, patient stories, research highlights, and animated models of conditions and treatments; a video that follows a patient from check-in to check-out, with pre- and post operative info and do's and dont's; and an annual book that highlights real data from the past five years on the capabilities and success rates of extensive cardiac surgical procedures.

The LVC partnered with the M3 team to evaluate and improve their existing print and web campaigns. This partnership resulted in a significant increase in new patients in 2008 with continued growth continuing through 2010. "Everything you read about the economy says our business should be down," says LVC clinic manager Angela Haley, "...but we continue to grow!"

After identifying three unique audiences, M3 developed marketing collateral and online ad campaigns that helped the LVC exceed growth expectations. The LVC's new look and message, "Love Your Legs," was carried across all platforms, from print to web with analysis, providing consistency in communication and brand recognition.

Sporting a streamlined look and updated content, the website was developed to provide information to patients about treatments and eligibility criteria, and help them determine the likelihood of surgery as an option.

Existing content was expanded to provide patients with detailed, sometimes life-saving instruction on dietary habits and restrictions pre- and post-surgery. M3 also created a nutritional video that has helped to decrease phone consultation time for professional and administrative staff.

In visual harmony with the website, M3 designed a companion brochure and teaser postcard which spotlight real patient successes through dramatic before and after photographs.

Having served as Surgery's in-house communications unit for over a decade, M3 has done it all.

Projects have included video production, video scripting, on-location and in-studio filming, voice-over narration, DVD authoring and packaging, brochures, signage, booklets, textbooks, logos, posters, animations, illustrations, postcards, signage, banners, studio portraits, on-location photography, scientific posters, banner ads, writing, web interface design, web development, search engine optimization and analytics, and web maintenance.

The Cosmetic Surgery Center came to us for a facelift.

So M3 trimmed, tucked, and sculpted a new look that would allow them to save face (pun intended).

A new web presence with a commercial look and up-to-date information has allowed them to thrive in a very competitve space, while leveraging the U-M name and reputation for quality. Additional targeted print collateral such as direct mailings and print ads have been successful in increasing customer awareness of capabilities, driving new patients to the Center, even during recent economic uncertainties.

Now, that's a thing of beauty!

The M3 team works annually with the Office of Research to help make the Moses Gunn Research Conference a huge success. The full-day event features over a dozen oral presentations, a prominent keynote address, a poster exhibit with nearly 60 presenters, and an award ceremony.

M3 contributes in several key areas, including design and printing of conference collateral, output of research posters, generation of a master PowerPoint presentation with a linked index of each speaker's visual presentation, on-location photography, and technical support to keep the presentations running smoothly.

The website features highlights of the conference including biographies of key speakers, the conference program including all presentations, downloadable poster templates, and a web photo gallery of previous year's highlights.
